The SOL's for Virginia are provided so they can be put in your plans with 1 click. A nice outline of the year is easy to plan with the Unit Timeline view. Days can easily be copied, bumped ahead, or changed to a "no school day". There are suggested formats, but you can set up your own format for your plans. There is a link that can be shared with administrators or parents to see the plans and links can be placed all throughout the plans. It just makes my life easier.

This is literally the best planning software I have used. I have used a bunch! I started with Teachers Toolbox (yeah I'm that old I used Windows 3.1), Chalk, My Lesson Planner, Planbookedu, even tried to make my own to incorporate the standards etc. I have been using Common Planner for many years, so long I was grandfathered in from a free plan to a full plan. As well, thanks to Scott, he has provided my graduate students with a free two year trial of Common Planner—they LOVE IT TOO. They cannot explain how helpful it is to their learning and planning for student teaching etc....

The ease and convenience of structuring your own online lesson plans paired with State and National goals combines to make a perfect lesson plan book that is available at school or from home.

The ease of adding standards to lessons was my a-ha moment. The colors and ability to change schedules, bump lessons, and copy from one prep to another are common sense features that make typing my plans far more convenient than writing them down. I can type much more detailed plans in less time than handwriting them myself.

I was impressed by CP from the start, when a colleague showed me her plans and shared the link. It took me a bit at first to give it a try as I tend to be wary of learning a new tech platform since they seem to come and go quickly. Common Planner is a very flexible and easy to use planning tool. The templates make it extremely easy to fill in daily classroom tasks and routines. I teach students individually, so I use CC differently than many.

One of the best things I love about CC is that I always have past lessons available to review. Sometimes I don't remember specifics about a lesson, so I have gotten in the habit of adding an extra card for after-lesson notes to help me remember important things that happened during the lesson, unexpected problems, questions that occurred to me during the lesson, or what I want to do next. It's easy to go back and review these before every lesson to remind myself of a student's specific needs even if it's been several weeks since I last saw the student. All of this detail filled binders when I tried to do it on paper.

I also use the lesson plan template to help me plan and cut down on paper. Since every student follows a different curriculum based on their own needs, it really doesn't help me to use the long term planner. Instead, I create a different template for each student. Within the template, I add the current goals and general steps to meet them. Every week I go back and cross out completed steps. Because it's on the template, it shows up for every class. Makes planning a breeze! I have a list of concepts to review (the crossed-off items) and a prepared list to show where we're going next.

I've been using CC for years now and I wouldn't change.

The templates are very organized. Using the templates takes some of the guess work out when writing lesson plans. I also love the standards being there to see and to compare when needed. I also love the ability to share lesson plans as needed with colleagues.

I love the calendar for homeschool planning. I've already sent it to my group at the start of each year. The "bump" feature is the best. The layout is fun and easy to use. I only wish there was a check list to show those things that are done.

Just using the free account has made my planning simpler and more effective.

I LOVE the flexibility that it offers! In math I am constantly adjusting my lessons and Common Curriculum allows me to easily push and pull back my lessons. This layout is SOO easy to use! I really like that things are color coded. I can choose to look at just the day or the week, even the month if I want. I DO plan to share it with my colleagues. IT is SO awesome. I am amazed at how much time it saves me and with CC being so new, I feel more confident that I am covering needed standards. Since I am a special ed. teacher I am responsible for several grade levels of instruction.

This is a great tool that I am so grateful that I found. It is making planning my lessons easier! Now, everything is online so there is no way to leave anything on my home computer. I also really like the fact that I can easily align my lessons so that they fit the intense NYS core so that my students will perform better on the tests.

I wanted to let you know that I have spent my snow day working with the Common Curriculum planner, and I LOVE IT!!! I have always had a hard time with planning (usually just jotting down ideas on paper), but this program is flexible enough to work with my jotting and then allowing me to go back and flesh out ideas

I REALLY like the Common Curriculum program. It fast, easy to use, very versatile, and has lots of features that I have been looking for.

Just did a brief peek to compare it to another site I use (and pay for). So far it exceeds the other site in ease of use.

I was shocked to find this FREE tool that is incredibly user friendly. One of the features I love so much is the chat helper (user faqs) tab. I had a question about the site's ability to perform a certain task, and was pleasantly surprised to have one of your co-workers send an email response explaining the process for accomplishing my request as well as offering to complete that specific task for me and record a video of himself performing the task so that I'd have access for future reference. Fantastic Customer Service!!!

I LOVE it! Actually, I showed it to my grade level partner and she is just as excited as I am. We are going to start using it to plan our lessons as well as map out the entire school year next year. This really is such an amazing resource!

Other programs I've tried have such a learning curve that it's been easier to continue typing plans out in Word.

I am going to let my entire school know what a wonderful website you have! Where have you been while I was knocking my head against my desk these past few years? Finally I can get some teaching time and real planning time back. I am actually looking forward to making lesson plans now.

It's so easy to have my lesson plans wherever I am. I love that I do not have to erase and re-write if there are snow days or plans change at the last minute. I can just copy and paste and move to the next day.
